Being a huge fan of the progressive arts movement of the 1970s and '80s, I wholeheartedly commend Ports 1961 Creative Director Fiona Chibani for her nostalgic nod to the early work of American photographer Chrisptopher Makos, choosing a few of his iconic images of Andy Warhol to adorn the brand's new limited-edition capsule collection. This collection is accessible and simple yet forward, just like Warhol's work itself. I am a big fan.
I had to meet the man behind the images, so I arranged a short sit down with Christopher to learn more about his background, career, and what makes him tick. It's amazing how he is still so inspired and engaging about his work and past. In fact I know that he still has so much more to give, and I can't wait to see what he does next. I had a blast speaking with Christopher and wish I could have hung out with him at Studio 54! I hope you enjoy this video.
